From village to industrial town - development in the 19th Neratovice and 20 century

The thesis deals with the development of a village later a town called Neratovice in 19th and 20th century, especially with regard to the formation of the chemical industry. The introduction briefly presents the parts of the town and also points out an interesting history of Lobkovice, the part which was up to the 80s of the 19th century more important than Neratovice. After that, the work continues chronologically in a description of life in Neratovice, at first to the end of 19th century and then it elaborates on the period of the two world wars. The next part is fully focused on the expansion of chemistry, in particular it discusses events based in Spolana, the well-known local plant whose existence has undoubtedly influenced and completely changed the image of the town. The paper also includes information about historical monuments and famous personalities that are connected with the town. History of the Monastery Kladruby

This master thesis deals with the history of Kladruby's monastery, about it's establishment and development during centuries. Further, it deals with the change of lifestyle in the monastery, as well as outside of it. This thesis highlights the outstanding architectural beauty of the Baroque Gothic style of Czech architects Jan Blažej Santini Aichel and Kilián Ignác Dientzenhofer.

This thesis occupies itself with the background of the idea of czechoslovakian state through the outlook of national revival and perspective of T. G. Masaryk. The goal is to inquire how the individual components change in time between 19th and beginning of 20th century. For that purpose methods of analysis and comparison of primary texts of authors who occupied themselves with the topic are used. Contribution of this work is in looking at the problem through the lenses of contemporary documents. Main finding is that some of the arguments on which the idea of czechoslovakian state lays are not very solid.
History of the Monastery Kladruby

The significant, cultural heritage, Kladruby's monastery lies n Tachovon in the Western part of the Czech republic. It lies between Pilsen and Tachov, specifically, Thirty kilometres west from Pilsen and five kilometres south from Stříbro. The history of the township and monastery is closely bound. The middle ages brought prosperity and rise to both of them.To this rise of Kladruby contributed it's great place by the Norimberská stezka and the discovery of silver ore nearby. Thanks to this, in 1230, it was raised by Václav I. to township. With this Kladruby gained the rights of a town ( e.g. The right to organize markets,the right to perform Criminal Law and the right to brew) as one of the first seven town in the Czech republic. Because of the wealth from silver mining, a mining settlement Stříbro was establishes, in the late twelfth century. The Benedictine monastery was established, by Vladislav I. of Přemyslid dynasty, in 1115. He himself is buried there as one of few Czech princes, who are not buried in Prague. Between the 12. And 13. Century, the monastery became one of the most important church centres of the whole kingdom. During the tragedy of Jan Nepomucký, the monastery has a major role. Political programmes of the Czech representation in the second half of the 19th century

The thesis Political Programmes of the Czech Representation in the Second Halve of the 19th Century focuses on both programme documents and actual work of Czech political parties, whether more or less institutionalized, between the years 1848 (March Revolution) and 1918 (the downfall of Austria-Hungary). At first it summarizes the historical development in the respective period (Chapter 1), next, it analyses programmes of political parties in three broadly defined topics: 1) Organisation of the empire, question of the Czech State Right (Chapter 2); 2) Constitutionalism, civil rights and role of a citizen (Chapter 3) and 3) National matters (Chapter 4). The attitudes about each of these areas of the following political parties are defined: Bohemian nobility, National Party (till 1874) or Old Czechs (since then), Young Czechs, Social Democrats, Agrarians, Catholic parties, National Socialists, Progress parties and parties of the Radical State Right, Realists and Anarchists. For the conclusion, the author of the thesis attempts to characterise and evaluating the Czech political representation, as well as its importance for the development since 1918.
The attempts to federalize the Austrian monarchy

The topic of this doctoral thesis is an analysis of the attempts to federalize the Austrian monarchy occurring between 1848 and 1918. Special focus is given to the political program and concept of a state in the works of František Palacký. The first part of the thesis will introduce chronologically all principal ideas and theories which Palacký created during his life and which concern his concept of organization of the multi-national Austrian monarchy and of the Czech lands within the monarchy. Attention will be paid not only to the general grounds on which Palacký based his political program but also to the practical side of his political activities. In the same time, the most important political events and changes in the Austrian state will be mentioned from 1848 - the year when Palacký entered the political scene - to the year 1876 when he died. The first part will be devoted to the description of Palacký's character, especially his activities outside politics. The next part will focus especially on his activity in the Constituent Assembly in Vienna and Kroměříž in 1848-49. A detailed essay on Palacký's most important theoretical work, Ideje státu rakouského (Idea of the Austrian State) will form the centre of the third part. The Enlightenment and its Impact on the National and Spiritual Formation of People in the Czech Lands during 18th and 19th Century

This master thesis deals with the spiritual progress pointing to a national self-awareness in the Enlightenment era from the beginning until 1848. The Enlightenment is an European phenomenon, which is characterized by a change of thinking, and self-awareness. This idea of tolerance and human emancipation contributed to the reforms of fundamental social, political and ecclesiastical changes. These changes result not only from a philosophical influences, but also from royal reforms during the reign of Maria Theresa and Joseph II in particular.
